Velocity

Velocity is defined as displacement per unite time.

 velocity(v)= Displacement(s)/Time(t)

Displacement is measured in 'metre' and time in second in SI system. Thus velocity is measured in m/s. It is vector quantity. Suppose the body moves 10m due east in straight line in 2 seconds. In each one second, it moves by 5m in straight line due east. This can be written as 5m/s
