Speed

Speed is defined as distance travelled per unit time.

Speed (v) = Distance travelled(s)/ Time taken

Distance is measure in metre and time in second in SI system. Thus, speed is measure in m/s.
Suppose a body moves 20m in 2 seconds. so, 10 m is the distance travelled by the body in one second which can be written as 10m/s.
